TRUE SOLDIER

This is my second card that I am entering in a challenge. Making cards for men is challenging to me because I like to use stickles, ribbon and flowers. However, since the cards have special meaning to me I spent alot of time figuring out the layout and embellishments.

The front of this card is several dimensions. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed. Two of the stars are stamped, heat embossed, cut out and an eyelet placed in the center of each one. The two red stars are wooden buttons with flax tied through them. The 3 large buttons are connected using a rusty looking wire.
The sentiment on the inside is also stamped and heat embossed. The stars were all stamped, heat embossed, cut out and an eyelet placed in the center of each one. The star for writing a short note was cut out using Creative Memories. I then went around the star with ink, a versamarker and then embossed the edges.

THE TRUE HEART OF A SOLDIER

I made this card with my 2 son in laws in mind. They are both in IRAQ right now and this seemed very fitting. They can be tough when they need to be, but also gentle when they need to me. Please leave me comments and let me know what you think. This main image and the sentiment by Abraham Lincoln is made by Jami Bova at 2RedBananas.com

The American Soldier and the inside stamps are by Close to My Heart.

I used Copic Markers to color the image and Close To my Heart Ink and embossing powder for the white images.
The flag paper is by Provocraft. The rest of the paper was from a military pack. The cardstock is by Stampin Up.
