BOOKMARK - TIOT CHALLENGE

Don't you just love this little Sprite? When you see "Aurora" you can't help but smile. She is so happy and full of life. This image is from the "Aurora Collection" by Victoria Case for SCACD.

TheDT was challenged this week to make a bookmark. I have to tell you I really struggled on this one. Maybe, it was a struggle because one of my furbabies (Sierra-large dog-12 years old) is very very sick. I haven't been sleeping well at night, because I listen to her breathing and I get up 3 or 4 times to let her outside. She is having trouble getting her hips up so I have to help her, hopefully, this is because she is weak from the pneumonia. We took her to the Vet Thursday morning and she has pneumonia, but it is a secondary infection to cancer. The cancer has spread in her body and she has severe arthritis. We are taking her back this Friday to see if her lungs are clear. The Dr. will probably take an xray so we can see how far the cancer has spread. We have dog doors so she can come in and out as she pleases except at night we close the doors and she stays inside. She seemed fine until about 2 weeks ago. We didn't even know she had cancer. She was going for 2 walks a day, eating good and acting normal. Anyway, I guess that is enough depressing news.

Now on the my bookmark set. I found this journal, pen, and file folders at Michael's for $1.00 each. I cut one of the files folders for the bookmark. Then, I stamped, colored with Copics, and added Stickles to these two beautiful butterfly stamps by Lockhart, cut them out and put on the bookmark. The little word stamps are from various sets I have in my stash. Sorry, the company name is not on the stamps. I attached two eyelets and the top to run the ribbon through, tied a bow and then I had a finished bookmark.

I am entering this set in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge #75 - A Matching Set

Hand Full of Stamps #13 - Swirls, Swirls, Swirls

Charisma Cardz #3 - Fruity Colors

A Spoon Full of Sugar #88 - Freestyle

Saturday Spotlight #15 - Let the Sunshine In

Aurora on the butterfly is colored with Copics. I applied gloss on the body and legs and cut out the image to put on the journal. Oh, I forgot - I used Stickles on the wings.

Please be sure to check out the other DT samples here. They are so super talented and creative, you will enjoy looking and getting new ideas.

Thank you for looking and please come back to visit.

It's Tuesday and we have another great challenge for you over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This week our challenge is to make an altered item using a image from the new "Aurora Collection" by Victoria Case for SCACD.

I chose Aurora with cake. This image was so much fun to color. I was going to use a Happy Birthday sentiment and then I realized this image could be a just for you or for any occasion.

I made a card to go along with the altered tin. I colored Aurora with Copics and added Stickles. The DP is My Mind's Eye. It is bright, but it suits Aurora's personality - happy, cheerful, and fun. I used my new American Crafts white gel pen to draw the highlights - awesome pen - love it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Belli Challenge - Glitter or Rhinestones (have both)
Creative Inspirations -#43 - New Product (new stamp and new paper)

The inside is simple using nestabilities so I can later stamp or write.

Now, to the altered Lunchbox Tin. I using the same DP paper and added a heart charm. NOTICE, the handle - I used the same image and made a shrinky dink.

FRIENDS and COFFEE - TIOT #50

Good Morning! Sorry , I haven't posted much lately. I have had the flu and cannot seem to get over it.

I wanted to use this image before Christmas, but never found the time. It is "LATTE" from the Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition #2 for SCACD. Doesn't she look like she is really enjoying herself?

The challenge this week for TIOT is to use Aqua, Coral (peach tones) and cream or white. This DP is one of my favorites. It is CTMH. Latte is colored with Copics with some Shimmerz on her blouse for accent. To add a little more dimension, I glossed the coffee cup and saucer. The roses are accented with Smooch Spritz - Vanilla Shimmer. This is my first time to use this product - I love it. It really gives a nice shimmer. The picture doesn't do it justice, but if you click on the pic it will enlarge and maybe you can see it better. To finish off the card, I used a half flatback pearl for the purse and added some ribbon and bow.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Going Girly
ABC Challenge - L (layering) - definitely lots of layers
Cute Card Thursday - Something new (new stamp)
Practical Scrappers - Glitter/Bling (shimmerz, smooch sprintz)
Belli Challenge - Sparkles (Pearl, shimmerz, smooch spritz)
Creative Inspirations - Wed. - New Year, New Product (new stamp)
Just Us Girls #15 - Technique/Stitching
Hand Full of Stamps #11 - Say it With Flowers

The inside is pretty simple. I used my MS punches for the front and inside of the card. Yes, that really is a Starbucks gift card.

Be sure and check out the other DT samples here. They are super fabulous.

WELCOME Belle and Macy - TIOT 49

HAPPY NEW YEAR and WELCOME BACK !! I want to thank all of you for your support and inspiration this past year. I wish you a wonderful and prosperous 2010.

I absolutely love this image. It is Jami from the Hearts and Hugs Series #2 by Victoria Case for SCACD.

Our challenge for the first week of 2010 is to make a welcome card or project. Well, I am making a card to welcome the latest new members of my daughters family - Belle and Macy. They are a mixture of Shepherd and Husky and are almost 4 months old. They are so cute !!! I just visited my daughter last week in Alabama and the little furbabies slept with me every night. They are house trained and well behaved. Only problem was, like little babies, they woke up every morning around 5:00am and wanted to play. Fortunately, my daughter has dog doors and they could go outside and play.

Now to the card. The image is colored with Copics with a little Stickles added on her shirt, pants and on the puppy collar. I sponged the eggshell background cardstock with a chocolate ink to add a little depth. NOTICE the Glitter Button. Susana has these in the store. I can't believe how versatile these buttons are. This button was a light pink and I colored it with my Copic and it didn't change the glitter effect at all. The dog collar charm was pewter and I colored it with my Copic and added Stickles and a rhinestone. Even little furbabies need a little glitz.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

One Stop Craft Challenge - Use something beginning with a B - (button)
Our Creative Corner - Clean and Simple
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - New Beginnings - (new puppies)
Stamp Something - New Somethings - (new puppies)
Creative Card Crew - Distressing (pics don't show it to well, but all the eggshell is distressed)
Papertake Weekly Challenge - New Beginnings - (new puppies)
ABC Challenge - L is for layering
Charisma Cardz - Color Combo - Pink, Brown, Cream, Coffee
Cute Card Thursday - All New (new puppies)
Paperplay Challenge - Precious Metals (Charm)
Corrosive Challenge - Use 2 of your favorite embellishments (glitter button and charm)
Belli Challenge - Use Rhinestones or Glitter (used both)
Created By Hand - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy Challenge - New (new puppies)

Meet Macy and Belle. Aren't they sweet? There is a little hole in the back yard and they love to lay in it.

DON"T FORGET to check out the other DT blogs. I am always amazed at the talent and inspiration they provide.

NEW PRODCUTS:
Susana has stocked some new products in the store. The new Lockhart stamps are really, really cute. Some are for Valentines which will be here before you know it.

Thank you for stopping by and viewing my card. If you have time, please let me know what you think.
