HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE

Meet Fashionista. She is an image from the Elisabeth Bell Collection for SCACD. Isn't she fun? How many of us shop with a cell phone to our ear?

Today is my granddaughter's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE !!! She loves to shop. I will be going to Alabama to see her the day after Christmas and I will take this to her along with her birthday present. She is 5 years old today.

Now, on to the card. I have wanted to make one of these cards with the drawers. This particular card has 4 drawers with an Easel card on top. I paper pieced the image and colored her hair and skin with Copics. The orange spray is one I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Birthday card
Stamp With Fun - Little Presents
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Sew Beady - use beads somewhere
Daring Cardmakers - Going Dotty
Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - Bling it Up
Charisma Cardz - Anything but Christmas
Allsorts Challenge - Anything but a card - I guess this would qualify
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Last Minute Gifts - This was a last minute gift for birthday

The little knobs on the drawers are wood that I painted orange. As you can see, the drawers are also lined with the same background paper as the card.

I love these little Petaloo flowers. They can be used in so many ways.

The picture does not show the stickles around the edge very well. The swirl is also glittered.

This is what the card looks like closed. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card and will stop by again.

You can find the tutorial for this here. Thank you Kirsten.

Everyone have a wonderful holiday and Christmas!!

SASSY FLAP/POCKET CARD - TIOT #47

This image is an Elisabeth Bell for SCACD - Boho Chic.

Our wonderful leader challenged us this week to do a Fancy Fold card with one of the images from the Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition #2. That was easy for me. I love these images. I have been wanting to do a flap card so I gave it a try and added a pocket for a gift card. This image, Boho Chic, reminds me of one of my granddaughters - Mackenzie. She loves bright colors and wild hairstyles and considers herself a hippie chic. Mind you, she is only 10. I colored the image with Copics and added stickles for some sparkle. The bow was made using the Bow Easy( my favorite tool) and I added a Petaloo Dazzler flower. Check out the glitter buttons. I put a rhinestone on them instead of scrappers floss to bring it together. This is the first time I have used these buttons and I was surprised to see so much glitter. They make a wonderful embellishment. I was able to get a little stitching, but not as much layering as I like to do.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Whimsy Stamps - Die Cuts
Frosted Designs - Use a Scallop
Stamp Something - Glitzy something
One Stop Craft Challenge - Fancy Folds

This sentiment is a Susanament. It worked so great with the image and the whole theme of this card. I get the older grandkids gift cards for Chirstmas so I am always looking for new ways to present them. I made the flap card and added a pocket for the gift card. Works perfectly.

I made a simple envelope for the card and I won't have to put a name on it because the colors fit Mackenzie's personality.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure and check out the other DT samples. They are a great inspiration and will give you alot of new ideas.

Susana is having a great sale right now. Be sure and check out her Specials.

TIOT 46 - BOX IT UP

Isn't this image just adorable? It is "Kringlet" from the Victoria Case Winter Wonderland Collection designed exclusively for SCACD.

I am entering this project in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Red and Green
Stamp With Fun - Christmas
The Pink Elephant Challenge - Color Me Wonderful - use your favorite coloring medium
Simon Says - Winter Love
Charisma Cardz - Anything Christmas
Colour Create - Green, Red and White
Allsorts - Buttons
Saturday Spotlight - Hats On
Creative Card Crew - Christmas
Everybody Art Challenge - Stitching

Good Morning! Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My oldest daughter and her family came in from Alabama and we all had Thanksgiving together at my youngest daughter's house. It is so nice to get together with family, but always so sad to see them leave.

Well, I have to confess I made two other boxes, but they did not turn out the way I wanted so I made a clear box. Actually, I bought the clear box and decorated it. I have several of the boxes and they are great to decorate and fill with candy, gift card or whatever you would like. I love this little Kringlet image it is so cheerful and happy. I stamped it twice and cut it out and popped it up. It is colored with Copics. Then, I used several different colors of stickles for the glitz and added a real little Christmas bell on the end of his cap. Check out the bow - I made it with the Bow Easy from SCACD. Believe me, this is the best $5 I ever spent. The border punch is a MS. To finish it off, I added three buttons with little bows and filled with metallic red confetti.
This little box is fun to make, but the image is what really makes it. I added a ribbon handle so it can be hung on the tree or on the fireplace.

Please be sure to check out the other DT samples. There is a tutorial and lots of good ideas for Christmas boxes. You can them out here.

Thank you for stopping by. If you have time, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Magical TIOT

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!! Our challenge this week was to use buttons. We could just use one or however many we wanted.

Atlantia is such a pretty stamp, I feel like I didn't do her justice. My granddaughter's birthday is in a couple of weeks. She will be 5 years old and we all know how little girls like fairies and princesses. As other 5 year olds she likes lots of glitz. I stamped and embossed the image and colored her with Copics. Her hair was highligted with Gold Inspiration. I also used the inspiration on her belt. Atlantia's wings and pearls were painted with frost white Shimmerz. I used stickles on her wings and the flowers in her hair, added little gems on the edge of her gown and painted around the entire image with twinkling H2O. I just happen to have a green heart button for the challenge and went with the CTMH dp just perfectly.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Friday Sketchers - Sketch
Kaboodle Doodles - Use buttons, bow and bling
Creative Inspirations Wednesday - Sparkle
Creative Card Crew - Favorite things - for me that would be sparkle

The inside is pretty basic and simple. I used nestabilities for the scallop circles and outlined each one with a gem. The sentiment is a Pink Cat Studio - Fairy Friends. Susana has this stamp set on sale right now at a 20% discount.

Please go to the store blog and check out the other DT samples. They are super fabulous.

Thank you for stopping by. I wish all of you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

I'VE GOT THE BLUES

This image is from the Victoria Case for SCACD Winter Wonderland - it is called SNOW FUN
Good Morning,

Our challenge this week was "I've Got the Blues". This DP is from CTMH. I love this image and this was a good time for me to use it. Doesn't it make you want to go and play in the snow? We don't really get snow in Central Texas, but I wouldn't mind getting just one really nice one to make a snowman. The image is heat embossed and colored with Copics. The snow on the snowman is Polar White Flower Soft with Doodlebug glitter added. I have made a lot of cards using the FS and this stuff goes a long way. For the accent on her boots, her hat, the heart on the stick, and the holly on the snowman's hat I used a Spica pen. I made the snowflakes with MS punches, added stickles and a rhinestone and popped them up. There is also stickles on the snowman's scarf and trim on his hat. To finish it off I added the ribbon. I have never made a
monochromatic card so this is another first for me.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday = 4 seasons - the card I made is winter
Charisma Cardz - Merry and Bright
Cute Card Thursday - Glitter Me Silly - you all know how I like glitz and glitter
Frosted Designs - Bling it On
Crafty Creations - Snow
Colour Create - Blue, silver and white
Creative Inspirations Wednesday - Sparkle
Three Clovers Designs - Christmas Card - no red, green or white

The inside again is pretty simple. If you have the right DP, it makes it easier. I love the trees against the navy background. Again, I punched out the snowflakes, added stickles and a rhinestone to carry the theme to the inside. I sponged two different blue inks from SU around the edges of the white writing area. If I leave it just white, it seems to plain to me.

Please visit the other DT blogs here and check out their projects. They are super terrific.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hope you will join in the fun blog hop today. You should have arrived here from Jennifer's blog and you will continue to Suzanne's blog. Please visit all the DT blogs. They have some really awesome projects that I am sure you will enjoy.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Card for a Child
My Grafico Challenge - Stitching

You know how much I love coloring these little girls. While I was coloring Daisy with Copics, I realized she can be used for so many different occasions - Teacher, Get Well, Thank You, Just For you, etc. She is just so darn cute. After coloring her I accented the dress a little with Stickles. Her hairbows and the daisies also has Stickles. The apple and her shoes are glossed with Crystal Effects. If you notice, on the book pages I used a Spica pen. The tissue paper holding the daisies is painted with Shimmerz - Pixie Dust. Then I finished off with pearls and flowers.

The inside is pretty simple. I used the Nestabilities for the cutouts (lattice). With the DP being so pretty, I really didn't have to do much.

From here go to Suzanne's blog. Don't forget to visit all the DT blogs. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you for stopping by, it is very much appreciated.

SANTA TAKES A BREAK - TIOT #43

Hi Ya'll !!

Today is another TIOT challenge. Suzanne challenged us this week to create a scene. I love this image - it is the Santa and Friends image from the Victoria Case "Winter Wonderland Collection" for SCACD. Santa has been so busy, he decided to take a small break to play with his friends. You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge so you can see all the snow, etc.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

ABC - G is for Green
Allsorts - Bring Out Your Bling
One Stop Craft Challenge - Cards for Kids
Secret Crafter - Easel Cards
Stamp With Us - Christmas
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Snow Much Fun
Saturday Spotlight Challenge - Repeatedly Useful
Creative Craft Challenge - Christmas Fun

I have been wanting to make an Easel card for a long time. Finally, I decided this would be a perfect challenge for one. This is what I ended with. The background is just white cardstock and then I sponged several colors of blue using SU ink for the sky. The red cardstock is SU. I stamped the snowflakes in white, heat embossed with white and glitter. I stamped the trees, heat embossed and colored with copics. All the images are heat embossed and colored with Copics. I cut an extra deer, squirrel and presents and paper pieced for added for dimension. After the coloring, I added snow on the ground and trees with Polar White Flower Soft with a little Doodlebug glitter. Santa's beard is painted with 3D iridescent paint. Santa's suit and the little hats also have the Flower Soft. If you haven't figured it out, I love lots of glitz. To add more of a scene, I cut out a deer, squirrel, and presents , using the same stamp, and popped them up for more dimension. The branches were cut from my MS branch punch.
This is a side view. This card was a lot of fun to make. You may see more of these cards coming, I think I may be hooked.

Please visit the other DT blogs and their samples. You can view them here

SKETCH CHALLENGE

Good Morning Ya'll. This week we were challenged with a Sketch. I love doing sketches. This one was fun and challenging. This image is Cocoa Puff from the Victoria Case "Winter Wonderland Collection". Every stamp in this set is fabulous.

I heat embossed and colored the image with Copics. I used Polar White Flower Soft with Doodlebug glitter for the snow and the trim around her hat. The leaves and the coffee cup are glossed with SU Crystal Effects. I used a spica pen on the emblems on her clothes. Of course, there is stickles on the poinisettas and her hat. The snowflakes are also glitzy and I added a rhinestone to each one. The blue background is SU cardstock with a blue mesh with 3D little white snowballs.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamp With Us - Christmas - must have at least one SU item (I have 3)
My Time to Craft - Scallops

The inside is also glitzy with the snowflakes and rhinestones.

SPECIAL CARD - FOR A LITTLE GIRL (JAIMIE)

Thank you for joining us today in this special blog hop. This hop started at Katharina's and you should have arrived here from Shannon's . After you leave my blog you should continue to Linda's

Reading the story of Jaimie reminded me of what happened to my neighbors last year. They are in their 80's. They hired workers to do a few repairs on their house. The next week, one of these workers broke into their house. He was able to enter the house by reaching through a dog door and unlocking the door. He stabbed both of them. The woman was able to run outside and scream so the intruder fled. Her husband, however, was stabbed so many times he was not expected to live. He lived, but still suffers mentally and physically from this attack. We live in a v very nice neighborhood where there has not been any crime, but this random act changed their lives and many others in the neighborhood. I cannot even imagine what Jaimie and her Dad must be going through.

"On October 4th, four teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These four boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings." Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her.

Please send your card to the address below:
Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057

You can go here for more information.

I have been wanting to make a circle card. Well, here is the final result. Jaimie likes snowboarding and I had a Penguin set from CTMH and thought this little guy would cheer her up. The image is heat embossed, colored with copics and a little stickles added to his hat. The feet and snowboard are glossed with SU Crystal Effects. The snow was made by running the mirror cardstock through my Cuttlebug swirls folder. I added a little SU Dazzlin Diamond glitter to make the snow glisten. The card is finished off with snowflakes and I added red rhinestones. The red background paper also has a mirrow finish so it was a little difficult to get the true effect of this card because of the reflection.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamp With Us - Christmas
Stamp With Fun - Scene
Creative Card Crew - Snowflakes
Paper Blooms - Circle Card
Simon Says - All That Sparkles
Creative Inspirations Wednesday - Red and Black

The inside has the same white mirror finish cardstock on the top that I used on the front of the card.

Thank you for stopping by and if you have time, please send Jaimie a card. I am sure she and her Dad would enjoy looking at them to help them through this time.

Fall Daisies

This is a closeup of the stamp by Lockhart.

Hello Ya'll !! I made this card a while back and since fall is almost over decided I better get it posted. This Lockhart stamp is so lovely I feel like I really didn't do it justice. I struggled getting this card to come together. The image is heat embossed and colored with Copics.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says - All That Sparkles - the daisies definitely sparkle

I cut the entire image out once and then layered each flower individually.

The inside has a pocket on the bottom with a small card to write on. Again the image is heat embossed and colored with Copics and stickles applied.
Thank you so much for stopping by and viewing my cards. I appreciate it.

I will be posting blog candy this weekend sometime, so be sure and check back.

LET IT SNOW !!!

Good Morning to Everyone !! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.

Our challenge this week for TIOT was Metal Musingl. It could be brads, eyelets, charms or anything metal. I love to use charms so it is a great challenge for me.

Doesn't this image make you want it to snow so you can go out and play or just take your dog for a walk? The first snow is always so refreshing and glistening.

This image is from the Victoria Case "Winter Wonderland Collection" for SCACD. It is called Winter. She is so happy she makes you want to smile !! The stamps in this collection are really awesome. Check them out, they are different than just your ordinary Christmas stamps.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Forever Friends
- Christmas
PaperPlay - Favorite Embellishment
Three Clovers Designs #36 - Sketch
Daring Cardmakers - 5 Favorite Things - Charm, ribbon, flowersoft, rhinestones, punches
BasicGrey Challenge Week #6 - Color combo - Green, Red, Blue
Creative Card Crew - Snowflakes
Simon Says Challenge - All That Sparkles
Daring Cardmakers - Get Punchy - I used my new snowflake punch

I stamped and heat embossed the image and colored her with Copics. I used the Polar White Flower soft around her jacket and the ground. I added a little Doodlebug White glitter to FS before I applied it. It makes it glisten so nicely. I used an EK success snowflake punch on the background layer and put little rhinestones in the middle of each snowflake. Now, here is a cool thing. The snowflake charm was actually pewter and I painted it with Gold Shimmerz paint and applied a little stickles to it and added the rhinestone. To get the perfect bow, I used "Bow Easy" which you can get at Susana's store.

The snowflakes on the background paper is embossed and has glitter. The camera only picked up a little. Other than that, the inside is pretty simple. I stamped a few snowflakes and sponged a little and that's it.

Be sure to check out all the other DT samples. You can check them out here.

I appreciate you stopping by. Just a reminder, I will be posting blog candy on the 1st for a drawing on the 10th.
